RE: Invitation to the School-Based Mentors (SBMs) and Head Teahers to attend a training on
Stage 3 school-based CPD
Rwanda Basic Education Board(REB) in collaboration with Secondary Teachers English Language Improvement Rwanda (STELIR) is planning for upcoming school-based peer-supported CPD with an English focus, which will take place as a regular weekly activity in all schools. The school-based CPD
model involves two days training sessions with School-Based Mentors (SBMs) to prepare them to hold
weekly 40-minute English CPD sessions with lower-secondary teachers at every school starting immediately after the first training.
We kindly request your office to authorize the concerned School-Based Mentors (SBMs) from your
district to attend the training on Saturday 2nd March and on Saturday 16th March 2024 from 8.30am
– 4.30pm and Head Teachers of the secondary schools to attend the first part (morning) of the
training on 2nd March only, to gain an overview and understanding of how the School-Based CPD should be implemented in their schools and the training their SBMs will undertake.
All costs related to this training will be covered by STELIR. Attached is a list of SBMs and Headteachers to be invited
and training centers.
