Concerns are growing over the rising number of migrants arriving in the United Kingdom, with critics calling for the reinstatement of the migration agreement previously signed with Rwanda.
Observers point to the effectiveness of offshore migration policies, noting that similar strategies have yielded results in countries like Australia over the past decade, as well as within the European Union and Germany. There is now a sense that the United States may soon adopt comparable measures.
One official noted, “Keir Starmer chose to abandon the Rwanda agreement, and as a result, 2025 has become one of the worst years for illegal migration into the country. I urge Prime Minister Starmer to reconsider and reinstate the Rwanda deal.”
Since halting cooperation with Rwanda, Prime Minister Starmer redirected funds from the migration deal into border security initiatives. However, these efforts have yet to stem the influx of migrants arriving in the UK.
Calls for urgent action continue to grow as stakeholders emphasize the need for sustainable and effective migration policies.
