In the letter that Rutsiro District Mayor, Mulindwa Prosper sent to the district’s school administrators recently includes the rules of stopping feeding the teachers from students’ school feeding program food.
A meeting to talk about the problem was held in Rutsiro on November 3. Teachers and parents’ council representatives came together for a conference at the time.
In a letter dated Friday, November 17, Mayor Mulindwa urged school administrators to take all reasonable steps to end the practice of providing food of students to teachers.
In the letter addressed to school head teachers, Mayor said”I am writing this letter to ask you avoiding and stopping to deliver the food reserved for students to teachers and other school supporting staff.”
Mayor advised the school administrators to sit and organize how teachers and other school staff can get lunch apart from school feeding meal.
In addition to, Mayor, through the letter said that he appreciated the schools where they arranged how teachers and other supporting staff can take lunch at school without consuming school feeding food.
