Following his release from prison, Theogene Manirakiza, through X, expressed gratitude to his loved ones and promised to share the many lessons he had learned with his followers.
“I went to study, and the lessons I learned are excellent,” he declared. I hope you will be excited with experience i will share with you. I’m all right, and I want to thank you all for your wonderful love and kindness. I’m happy with it! I’m back and better than I was! We are going to have a great time, and I will soon return to work.”
On October 11, 2023, Manirakiza Theogene was reportedly arrested by the Rwanda Investigation Bureau, RIB, Prosecutor’s Office for taking a bribe of 500,000 Frw; however, he was initially brought before the court on charges of defamation.
On October 25, 2023, the prosecution brought him before the Kicukiro District Court and requested that he would remain in custody for 30 days. The court granted the request because there are substantial grounds for the prosecution’s suspicion of criminal activity.
Manirakiza was not satisfied with the decision,the suspect side said that some factors were uncared.
Due to this, he requested an extrajudicial investigation and an appeal of the ruling to the Nyarugenge High Court. On November 17, he was eventually freed.
Manirakiza will be present at the prosecutor’s office on the last Friday of each month.
