Rwanda international Emmanuel Imanishimwe earned his first Moroccan Botola League title with AS FAR Rabat as the club finished the 2022/23 season on top of the table with a 3-2 victory over Ittihad Tanger on Friday night.
Imanishimwe played full speed in the game at Ibn Battuta Stadium, putting up another solid performance.
Reda Slimane put FAR Rabat ahead with a penalty in the eighth minute, but the host team equalized with a penalty in the 14th.
After the break, Ahmed Hamoudan put FAR Rabat ahead again in the 48th minute, but Mohsine Moutoiali equalized for Tanger in the 75th minute.
FAR Rabat had a penalty in the 92nd minute following an infringement inside the important area, and Reda Slimane stepped up to bury it with ease to make it 3-2 and send visiting supporters into a frenzy.
FAR Rabat ended their 15-year title drought by winning with 67 points, barely one point ahead of second-placed Wydad Casablanca.
